Soul Jah Tribe was founded in 2001 by Bucket Ghost, Torte & Don Pyro. Fascinated from Soundsystems like Pow Pow, who forwarded early the jamaican culture in Germay, we invest our money in black gold, the first 7 inches with original Jamaican sound were bought. Soul Jah Tribe had their first shows in and around Pforzheim, Munich and Karlsruhe (Germany). In 2002, Torte left the crew and Skatta entered Soul Jah Tribe. Fastly we changed from a fun project to a serious thing. We build up our box in many ways, Skatta started with Roots-Stuff, Don Pyro supported the Hardcore stuff. Around Soul Jah Tribe were delevoped a real family, Beat Wizzard was producing riddims, Bucket wrotes own lyrics and of course we started to cut dubplates. The killer tune “nah stop say so” from Frisco Kid was our first dubplate and marked Soul Jah Tribe as real dancehall sound system. Bucket Ghost has a stage experience from almost 15 years, started as rapper, released several singles and a well-known LP. Bucket spiced our bashment partys with all his experience, his own lyrics and his all-time motivation the audience. Like mentioned, Soul Jah Tribe is a family, we had at every time support from “half-time” Soul Jah Tribe members like KaB, Ghostwriter and Manu. The massive is thrilled! 2004 Bucket Ghost takes responsibility as general manager from a location in Pforzheim (Germany) called „neuland“. The location, a mixture between bar & club established as homebase from Soul Jah Tribe & Family. This great place was part of parties with all important German artists and soundsystem. Of course we organised great shows with Freddy Krueger (ex Killamanjaro), dodo, Cali P and other great international artists and sound systems. We toured through Germany, played in Berlin, Munich, Mannheim and many other cities. In 2005, two great experienced soundboys March & Steffen expanded Soul Jah Tribe. We established a direct & personnel connection to the motherland of reggae music: Jamaica. The number of specials raised and is still rising… By the way, Steffen married in 2007 a Jamaican hot gyal. In 2005 Mr Belly (formally Patoo Crew) entered the crew, too. Soul Jah Tribe is a great, open family but with a circle of core members. Many people are helping to promote our dates, run the website and celebrates our bashments & dubplates, everytime when Soul Jah Tribe is playing. With six years experience, with collecting boxes of riddims, tunes and of course dubplates, Soul Jah Tribe is able to play all style of reggae & dancehall music – and we see now end! Be prepared. Watch out Soul Jah Tribe is here! |
